Maine Coast Fishermen's Association: near-real-time sea temperature and pressure from sensors on fishing gear, with QC flags |
Near-real-time subsurface sea water temperature and pressure measured by autonomous temperature-depth loggers (ZebraTech Moana TD) attached to the fishing gear of commercial vessels taking part in the Maine Coast Fishermen's Association (MCFA) programme, in the Gulf of Maine. Gears: trawls and gillnets. Each trajectory (tow_id) is one gear deployment: a down-profile while the gear is set, a bottom or fishing phase, and an up-profile when it is hauled (segment_type). Data are offloaded to a deck unit when the gear returns on board and published within hours. Every sample is kept: the automated FVON quality-control tests only flag data (qc_* variables, scale 0 not evaluated, 1 good, 3 suspect, 4 bad, 9 missing value); nothing is removed or adjusted. Vessels are anonymised.
